Wedding Rings

I have a few muslim friends, and I met up with one of them yesterday for coffee. I always love the chats we have.
This time we got into a long conversation about relationships… particularly with marriages, and arranged marriages and things. As I was talking about my views of relationships, she seemed shocked that I had a similar view to her. This led into a conversation about the difference between ‘the world’s view’ and ‘people of faith’.

The world has taking a beautiful thing… love, relationships, sex… and made it worthless. I’m not surprised to talk to people of other faiths, who love God, and find that they have the same high ideals for love and sex. God created it as part of ‘all that was good’.

People of faith understand love. I’d never claim to understand it fully, but we understand that it is a sacred thing to be treated with respect. I only hope that one day my friend will understand love in an even deeper sense… that she will realise the love Jesus showed when he died on the cross for our sins.
