love_writingI feel utterly blessed to be someone who loves written words.  I could spend all day every day devouring books, getting lost in other lands, and living adventures in other people’s shoes.  It’s a love that benefits me greatly when I sit down to much on God’s Word.

Along with my love to read, I love to write.  And I guess this is a very new revelation for me. Journaling, Blogging, Newsletters, School Assignments… I really love to write.  When I have something to say, I’d much rather write it than say it–I feel like things make more sense and are more articulate when I write them down.

I’ve been reflecting over the last week about the reduction of blogging and journaling over the last semester in particular, and it suddenly struck me that no, it’s not because something has gone wrong in my faith, I’m just all writing-ed out.

There’s only so much writing I can do before I get burned out, and over this last year of school I have written A LOT of papers, sometimes having to churn out a 20-30 page assignment overnight.  All I can say is praise God that regular blogging helps me put the words together when I need to!

Blogging serves so many functions in my life.  It allows me to straighten out my thoughts.  It helps me to evaluate the world as I interact with it.  It allows me to keep the right perspective on situations.  It adds fuel to my love-for-God fire. It gives me an outlet for my love of writing.  It allows me to keep others up to speed on where I’m at in life. And hopefully, along with all these, it challenges other people to see God in new light.

It’s no surprise then that only a few days after graduation and I’m already gathering a list of things I want to blog about.  Who knows, maybe someday I’ll write a book.
