Two 5th April, 2008

Like the Glasgow Underground, the Portland buses display adverts where the walls meet the ceiling (giving everyone something to look at think about as they try to avoid making eye contact with the other people!). Several times now I have noticed this very simple poem which speaks strongly to the hurt and confusion many young people now face as they grow up in broken homes:

I have two beds

     And two bedrooms
Two different houses
     Two fathers
     And two mothers.

I have two eyes

     And two hands
Two feet
     And two arms
But I cannot be
In two different places
At the same time.
